Investigators say fingerprints helped them determine the body found Tuesday was 35-year-old Marcial Antonio Perez.
Spartanburg County deputies think Perez was in this county illegally and may have been operating a courier service.
An autopsy found Perez died from being beaten in the head.
A mother and daughter looking for scrap metal found Perez's body.
Deputies say they have no suspects.
