One killed in Tarboro apartment fire

TARBORO

According to authorities, the Elmhurst Home Apartments on Simmons Street in Tarboro burst into flames around 3 a.m. Wednesday.

Fifty-seven-year-old Lorraine Jones died in the fire. The other residents escaped unharmed.
