Man charged with Comfort Inn shooting

DURHAM An employee at the Comfort Inn on Mount Moriah Road was shot in the hip during Monday's robbery.

The victim told police two men entered the motel around 5:40 p.m. and robbed the business. Police did not disclose the amount of money they took.

The suspects left the hotel in a white Nissan Maxima that was driven by a third male.

Davis is also facing charges stemming from an armed home invasion on Tuesday on Nation Avenue in Durham.

Two women and an infant were at home when officers said at least three men broke into their home shortly before 2 a.m. and robbed them at gunpoint.

The suspects fled with phones and two flat screen televisions.

Davis was charged with one count of felony conspiracy, three counts of second-degree kidnapping, one count of first-degree burglary and one count of larceny.

He was placed in Durham County Jail under a $1 million bond for the charges from Nation Avenue and Comfort Inn.

Investigators are also trying to locate Adrian Whoie who is also charged with committing the armed home invasion on Nation Avenue.

The 26-year-old is wanted for felony conspiracy, first-degree burglary, larceny and three counts of second-degree kidnapping. He is also wanted for failure to appear in court on earlier charges.
