Detectives say Robert Bernard Dowd Jr. shot 25-year-old Zachary Dowd during an argument around 5:30 Tuesday morning at 1809 Burton Street.
The younger Dowd died at the scene.
In addition to the first-degree murder charge, Robert Dowd Jr. also faces attempted first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a felon charges.
Police did not say how the two Dowds are related. The investigation continues.
