Marine unit home from longest deployment in 40 years

CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C.

The marine unit of about 270 members deployed last March in support of operations in Libya. The usual six to seven months at sea turned into one of the longest deployments on record for a Marine Corps unit, one that ultimately lasted 10 months.

Another 960 marines and sailors from the same Marine Air Ground Task Force will return home to Camp Lejeune Sunday.
