Claire Jablonski performed the Heimlich Maneuver on her dad, Frank, on Dec. 11 while he was choking on a piece of chicken.
Claire's grandmother said her granddaughter had no formal life-saving training but she saw that her mom was doing it wrong so she stepped in to perform the Heimlich.
"I kind of like stepped in and went under his belly button and after a couple times of me doing that, he started coughing. So, I knew his airway was clear," said Jablonski.
Claire, a Holly Springs High School junior, happened to save her dad's life on his birthday.
She hopes to become a nurse after graduation.
