Armed robbery suspect arrested in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department's Robbery Unit have arrested Rakeem Rashad McGoogan in connection with a robbery that took place Feb. 9, at approximately 10:40 pm, in a parking lot adjacent to the Value Place at 599 Cutchen Lane.

McGoogan was apprehended late Thursday night and processed at the Cumberland County Detention Center.

McGoogan and another unidentified man allegedly robbed Exziera Knox, 19, at gunpoint and knifepoint. The suspects were described as driving away in a green sport utility vehicle.

McGoogan, of the 7800 block of Ladonia Drive, remains in custody on a $75,000 secured bond.
