Body found in east Raleigh

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Raleigh police are investigating the discovery of a body in east Raleigh.

The body was found in the woods around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday near Hedingham Boulevard and Corporation Parkway.

Police are not sure yet if the remains are those of a man or a woman.

People who live in the area told ABC11 that there are homeless camps nearby.

The remains were sent to the medical examiner for an autopsy. Results could come in as soon as Thursday.
