GREENVILLE, N.C. -- A suspect in the killing of a cab driver in Brooklyn earlier this year has been arrested in North Carolina.

Greenville police say 23-year-old Unique Everlast Gray has been arrested and is awaiting extradition to New York City to face charges in the killing of a cab driver Naji Fawaz on June 29.

Police told local media outlets that Gray had run from a traffic stop Aug. 25 but was spotted by an officer again Sunday morning and taken into custody.

Police said Gray was a passenger in the traffic stop earlier and had given them a false name. Investigators learned his real name and that he was wanted in New York.

It was not clear if he has an attorney for an extradition hearing.
