Cary police look for graffiti artists
Police say someone has been tagging some choice words on apartment complex signs, in public parks, and even on businesses downtown.

CARY, N.C. (WTVD) -- Cary police are on graffiti watch. They say someone has been tagging some choice words on apartment complex signs, in public parks, and even on businesses downtown.

The Kitchen and Bath Galleries was hit. It's one of just 20 spots hit -- sprayed with the words "snot" and "booger."

Police have been finding the tags all over town.

Whoever is behind the tagging may think it's funny, but the joke is really on tax payers. That's because it costs the town money to clean it up.

It's especially upsetting for people who use those areas -- especially where little ones play.

"I think it's wrong in the parks because I think it sends a wrong message to the younger kids that it's okay for them to do," said Cary resident Ed Grzybowski. "Find a better outlet so the young kids don't pick up on it."

Police say you can help. If you see something, snap a picture and report it.

If your tip leads to anything, you could even get reward money.

Those responsible for the graffiti could face about four months in jail when caught.
