The victim, 23-year-old Joseph Russo, of Durham, was taken to Duke Hospital in critical condition.

Police now believe two vehicles may have been involved in the collision, based off of collected evidence.

Authorities say the two cars could be a 1995-1999 Subaru Legacy sedan and a full size pick-up truck. They are unsure of the sedan's color, but say it would have significant damage to the front passenger side.

Russo has been released from the hospital and has a long road to recovery.

Anyone with information about the accident is asked to contact the Chapel Hill Police Department at (919) 968-2760 or CrimeStoppers at (919) 942-7515.

Calls to CrimeStoppers are confidential and anonymous, and the caller may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2000 for information leading to an arrest.
