GRAHAM, NC (WTVD) -- In the aftermath of the toppling of the Silent Sam Confederate statue in Chapel Hill, Alamance County officials said they are keeping a close eye on a statue of their own.
There were extra patrols Tuesday around the Confederate monument outside the historic Alamance County courthouse in Graham.
The statue has been there since 1914.
In 2017, a man was charged with inciting a riot" after protesting at the statue.
The county manager said public safety is the biggest concern.
