KENLY, N.C. (WTVD) -- Six people were injured and four of them were taken to the hospital after a wreck Sunday on Highway 39 at Highway 42 in Kenly, north of Selma.
Troopers said a black pickup truck was going north on Highway 39 and pulled out from a stop sign at a four-way stop, hitting a white SUV that ran a stop sign. The SUV was pulling a trailer with two other vehicles.
During the crash, the vehicles being pulled hit another passenger car.
Highway 42 and 39 were shut down for about an hour.
Joey Creech lives about 20 yards away and heard the cars colliding.
"It was loud, very loud," said Creech.
He called 911 and helped pull one of the victims out of a red car, where all the air bags imploded.
"I got her out [and] took her over there to the tree and got her to sit down and stuff. She was bleeding a little bit," he said. "They're blessed, they're all blessed to be able to walk away."
Troopers said the injuries appear to be minor.
Johnston County EMS, Antioch Fire, and the State Highway Patrol all responded.
