North Carolina boy in hospital with serious head injures following dirt bike crash, police say

DURHAM, North Carolina (WTVD) -- A young boy has been taken to the hospital after police said he sustained serious head wounds after his dirt bike hit an SUV.

Durham police said the incident happened Saturday night near Dearborn Drive and Martin Street.

According to authorities, the boy was not wearing a helmet before the incident occurred.
