CHARLOTTE -- Police say a 26-year-old woman faces several charges, including driving while impaired, in a crash that killed her 3-year-old son and injured her 7-year-old son.
The Charlotte Observer reports Chantee Tranise Boyd was involved in a crash on Billy Graham Parkway near Charlotte Douglas International Airport early Sunday morning. Police say she collided head-on with a Lincoln Continental with her Honda.
Paramedics say Boyd's 3-year-old son was pronounced dead at the scene. Her 7-year-old son and the other driver were taken to the hospital. They are expected to recover.
Boyd is charged with felony death by vehicle, two counts of felony child abuse, reckless driving and DWI. It is unclear if she has a lawyer.
