Teen escapes from being kidnapped at gunpoint
It happened around 8:30 p.m. in the 600 block of Goodwin Road.

DURHAM (WTVD) -- Durham County sheriff's deputies said a 17-year-old was abducted at gunpoint from her backyard on Wednesday night.



It happened around 8:30 p.m. in the 600 block of Goodwin Road.





Authorities said she was driven to a wooded area near Snow Hill Road at Sawmill Creek Parkway.





According to authorities, the victim was able to escape after a brief struggle. Deputies responded and searched the area but could not locate a suspect.



The suspect's vehicle was described as a white van with no rear seats, tools on the floor, and a partition that separated the rear of the van from the driver's compartment.



The suspect was described as a white man, about 5'11" - 6'1" with a deep voice. Deputies also said the suspect as wearing a black long-sleeved shirt, blue jeans, brown boots, black gloves, and was armed with a handgun.
