DURHAM (WTVD) -- Durham police are investigating two different attacks on women along a Durham trail.
The most recent incident happened Wednesday night when police said a woman was sexually assaulted on the Ellerbee Creek Trail near Washington Street and West Club Boulevard.
The victim told officers she was walking on the trail around 6:15 p.m. when a man came up behind her, choked her into unconsciousness and pulled her into the woods, where he sexually assaulted her.
The woman was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Police said the victim was unable to provide a description of her attacker.
On Oct. 22, a woman told police she was walking on the trail near Dacian Avenue around 5:15 p.m. when a man came up behind her and choked her. He did not sexually assault her.
The suspect was described as a black man wearing black jogging pants, a white tank top and a blue and red hat. He was about 5'9" with a muscular build and about 140-150 pounds.
He was described has having a short afro with the front part of his hair colored "tan" or "colored like a cheetah." Police said it is possible his hair was bleached.
