Get ready to sink your claws into this incredible footage of an elephant surviving a lion attack.
The New York Post uploaded a video to YouTube on Tuesday of a 1-year-old elephant fending off 14 attacking lions at the Norman Carr Safaris Chinzombo Camp in Zambia. The incredible footage was captured when journalist Jesse Nash, Long Island University Art Professor Dan Christoffel, Naturalist Steve Baker and Australian TV personality Nina Karnikowski came upon the site during a safari.
The video depicts the baby elephant in question holding off 14 lions, with three even climbing and clawing on top of its back at one point. However, the elephant remains strong and keeps its attackers at bay. According to the New York Post, the elephant earned a new nickname Hercules for his heroic actions, and has since been reunited with its herd.
