'McFarland, USA' screening hosted by Durham police
A screening of the new Disney movie "McFarland, USA" was hosted in partnership with Durham police on Saturday.

DURHAM (WTVD) -- A screening of the new Disney movie "McFarland, USA" was hosted in partnership with the Durham police on Saturday.

The movie was shown at the Regal Brier Creek movie theater in Raleigh.

"McFarland, USA" is based on a true story from the 1980s about novice runners who try to build a cross-country team with their coach, played by Kevin Costner.

ABC11's Anthony Wilson introduced the film.

The Durham police hope by showing this movie, kids will learn that anything is possible with enough determination.

Disney is the parent company of ABC11.
