Mall escalator goes backwards

NINGBO, China (WTVD) -- At least five people were seriously hurt when an escalator packed with people at a mall in China suddenly went into reverse.

Video shows people being tossed into a pile at the bottom of the moving stairway.

The cause of the malfunction is under investigation.
