Men accused of murder appear in court

DURHAM, North Carolina (WTVD) -- Police have arrested three men in the shooting of a woman in Durham Friday night.

It happened about 9:45 p.m. in the 100 block of E.Umstead Street off of S. Roxboro Street.

Tequila Smith, 36, of Durham was found dead outside a home.

Durham police investigate after a woman was fatally shot Friday night.

Twenty-three-year old Jamal Shamsuddeen, 24-year-old Aquan Pitts, and 20-year-old Mustafa Magwood were arrested and charged with murder on Saturday.

Shamsuddeen is in a local hospital recovering from a non-life-threatening gunshot injury. Magwood was also injured in the incident, but was treated and released to the custody of police.

Magwood and Pitts faced a judge for the first time Monday. Magwood was in a wheelchair. Both men asked for court-appointed attorneys.

The judge ordered the men held without bond.
