FAYETTEVILLE, North Carolina (WTVD) -- Authorities in Fayetteville are investigating after a person was thrown from an ATV and seriously injured Thursday night.



Around 6:50 p.m., police were called to a crash in the 2100 block of Rim Road.



Police said at least three off-road vehicles were going south on Rim Road toward Old Raeford Road when the collision happened.



One of the riders, 43-year-old Jermaine Morrison, was thrown off the ATV and was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in critical condition.



Authorities said the other people operating the off-road vehicles fled the scene.



Police are currently trying to locate them. They also want to make sure they were not severely injured.
