Police make arrest in Fayetteville sex assault

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- A Fort Bragg man is in custody, charged in connection with a sexual assault that occurred Dec. 6.



Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department's Special Victim's Unit arrested Phillip Wilson-Hyman, 22, on Tuesday.



The sexual assault happened in the 800 block of Sumner Drive. The victim, who is also 22, is an acquaintance of Wilson-Hyman, police said.



Wilson-Hyman is charged with second degree forcible rape, five counts of second degree forcible sex offense, and attempted second degree forcible sex offense.



Wilson-Hyman was processed at the Cumberland County Detention Facility where he remains on $300,000.00 secured bond.
