2 shot in Fayetteville nightclub parking lot
FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- Police are investigating after two people were shot in the parking lot of a club in Fayetteville early Sunday morning.
Police said it happened at Big Shots nightclub on Yadkin Road around 2:15 a.m.
Investigators said a fight broke out inside the nightclub and the staff had everyone inside leave. While the patrons were leaving Big Shots, someone began firing gunshots in the parking lot.
A woman who was walking to her car was struck in the leg and taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
A second victim was driven to the hospital with a gunshot wound to his chest. Police said the victim was able to speak with officers and is listed in fair condition.
Detectives with the FPD's Aggravated Assault Unit are actively investigating the shooting and are asking anyone who may have been in attendance at Big Shots, to contact them. Individuals wishing to remain anonymous can call Crimestoppers to submit their information.
The names of the victims are being withheld, as the suspects remain at large and are considered armed and dangerous. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
