RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Downtown Raleigh was buzzing with activity Friday afternoon and evening with huge crowds at Raleigh's annual 4th of July party, The 'Works.

Activities kicked off at noon on Fayetteville Street with bands, street performers, kids' rides and games, and of course, plenty of food.

The ABC11 Eyewitness News Center was at the center of the action on Fayetteville Street.

City officials estimate the crowd was in excess of 100,000, which is on par with last year.
