Police: Gas leak near N.C. State forces evacuations, detour

Emergency crews worked to repair a gas leak on Hillsborough Street in Raleigh Wednesday afternoon.

Raleigh police said N.C. State Public Safety officials handled evacuations of nearby buildings. No injuries were reported.

Police said crews were sent to the leak near Rosemary Street just before 11 a.m.

The Raleigh Fire Department and other crews worked for hours to contain the leak.

Hillsborough Street was closed from Dixie Trail to Henderson Street for several hours.
