Gas leak capped at Ashe Ave and Hillsborough Street in Raleigh

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- A gas leak at Ashe Ave and Hillsborough Street in Raleigh has been capped.

Emergency workers were called at 9:20 a.m. Tuesday.

Officials said a contractor digging in the area hit a gas line.

Hillsborough Street was closed and four small businesses near the intersection were evacuated.

The gas was shut off by 9:45.
