Lawn party rally held to save historic Hillsborough inn

HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- An effort is underway to save an aging inn in Hillsborough.

About 200 people held a lawn party rally outside town hall Wednesday evening in an effort to save the historic Colonial Inn.

The owner submitted an application to demolish the King Street building, which was built in 1838.

The rally came as the Hillsborough Historic District Commission met to decide on the demolition request.
