FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- There have been two new arrests in the ongoing crackdown on human trafficking in Cumberland County.
On Wednesday, 46-year-old Frank Gainey, of Hope Mills, was charged with three counts of human trafficking, three counts of promoting prostitution, four counts of conspiracy, one count of second degree rape, one count of second degree sex offense, and one count of assault by strangulation.
Authorities said Gainey had been previously charged and jailed on related charges. He is being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $340,000 bond.
Twenty-seven-year-old Heather Whipple, of Parkton, was charged with four counts of human trafficking, four counts of promoting prostitution, and four counts of felony conspiracy.
Whipple is being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $120,000 secured bond.
