RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- It's no secret that North Carolina is one of several key battleground states. That's not lost on the presidential candidates, who along with their surrogates have been constant presences in the state for months leading up to the 2024 general election.
Democrats think they can flip North Carolina for the first time since 2008. Republicans are out to deliver the state for Trump yet again.
In the updates below, you'll find the latest information on when the major party candidates plan campaign stops in the state during these final few weeks counting down to Nov. 5, Election Day. You'll also find other relevant updates, quick hits and links for statewide and local races.

Durham County residents can cast a ballot at any of the 12 early voting sites in the county through Nov. 2.

Durham County citizens who are not registered can complete a Same-Day Registration at any of the early voting sites with proof of residence.

As early voting gets underway across the state, the Chatham County Board of Elections Office released useful information for the county's citizens.
The early voting period runs from Thursday through Nov. 2.

Early voting can be done Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; Saturdays - 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Sundays - Noon - 3 p.m.
Voters will be asked to show a photo ID. If a voter does not have an acceptable photo ID, they can get one free from the Chatham County Board of Elections Office through Nov. 2 by 3 p.m., or at N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles (NCDMV).

Vice Presidential hopeful Tim Walz was joined by former President Bill Clinton in Durham on Thursday to celebrate the start of early voting.
The Democrats are encouraging supporters to get out and take advantage of early voting opportunities across the Tar Heel state.
Both parties are fighting hard to win North Carolina, as it could swing the entire election.
Democrats historically turn out in higher numbers during early voting, so it's common for candidates of that party to ramp up get out the vote efforts in swing states when early voting gets underway.
Walz and Clinton gathered at a campaign event at 3 p.m.
Walz told the Durham crowd that Kamala Harris was ready to work for the people and execute her economic plan. He also took shots at Donald Trump, calling him "deranged and desperate."
After the event, Walz is heading west to Winston-Salem where he will hold another rally at 6:30 p.m.
After the Durham event, Clinton will head east and kick off what's being called the Early Vote bus tour. He will visit Wilmington, Fayetteville, Wilson, Greenville, Rocky Mount and Raleigh on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The NCGOP responded to the campaign event with the following statement:
"In their latest desperate attempt, the Harris campaign is sending someone very familiar with losing North Carolina to campaign. However, North Carolina voters aren't fooled: the Harris-Biden Administration has failed North Carolina."
The political visits continue to ramp up across North Carolina as voting is now officially underway for the 2024 election.
Donald Trump announced he would hold a rally in Greenville, North Carolina, on Monday Oct. 21.
Doors to Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum will open at 11 a.m., and Trump is scheduled to start speaking at 3 p.m.
