A terrifying encounter was caught on camera in California.

A hammerhead shark was seen circling kayakers in the waters off La Jolla shores.

The 8 to 10 foot shark stayed with the kayakers for several minutes.

The shark also encountered a group of swimmers, one swimmer was pulled into a kayak.

Lifeguards evacuated the water after becoming aware of the danger.
