Trea Turner
Former NC State star is back in Durham to face the Bulls, but he hopes to stick in the Majors soon.

DURHAM (WTVD) -- Two years after leaving NC State, Trea Turner returned to the Triangle, at a ballpark seen from a new perspective.

For a guy who travels lightning quick around the bases, Turner's climb to the Majors feels glacial. Stymied by a power-hitting Washington Nationals shortstop, Turner is leaning to play center field, which would increase his chances of a call-up.

In June, Turner played one game with Washington, going 3-3 with a double and a walk. He was promptly sent back down.

Turner follows the Pack 9 closely and reached out to Coach Elliott Avent after he was bitten by a venomous snake.

Being back here is fun. But Turner hopes it's the last time. Watch the video for more.
