RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Police said a 75-year-old man in a wheelchair was hit and killed by a vehicle in Raleigh Sunday morning.
Officers were dispatched to a collision between a motor vehicle and the man in the wheelchair around 11:15 a.m. near the intersection of Raleigh and Martin Luther King boulevards.
The man in the wheelchair was identified as Harold Smith, 75. Smith was crossing South Raleigh Boulevard outside of the crosswalk when he was hit, according to a wreck report.
Smith was taken to WakeMed where he was pronounced dead. The driver was not injured.
The collision is under investigation and no charges have been filed.
