RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Gov. Pat McCrory released a video to recognize and honor first responders on the 15th anniversary of September 11.
In the video message, he talks about the images we all saw and how the images he remembers the most are the "heroes that rushed into burning building and did everything they could to help their neighbors, friends, and colleagues."
He said some of the heroes that emerged from the tragic event were military members and veterans, and some were just regular people who donated blood, volunteered, or prayed.
"It's first responders who I especially want to recognize on the anniversary of 9/11," said Gov. McCrory. "We will never stop supporting and protecting those who protect us."
