CABARRUS COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- Nearly 130 animals were rescued from a suspected puppy mill in Cabarrus County Monday by the Humane Society and the Cabarrus County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies said they found around 105 dogs, 20 cats, and 3 goats in unsafe and unsanitary conditions. The Human Society said many animals had untreated medical issues and were in need of urgent veterinary care.
A spokesperson from the Humane Society said they are being taken care of at an emergency shelter
They said it could be a few weeks at the earliest to learn where the animals will be taken next.
Deputies are still investigating. So far no arrests have been reported.
