Arrest made in Durham drive-by shooting

DURHAM (WTVD) -- Durham police have made an arrest in connection with a shooting last month.

Investigators arrested 21-year-old Alexis Hernandez Ramirez, of Durham, Tuesday afternoon on Ivy Street.

Ramirez is charged with murdering 27-year-old Juan Carlos Ruiz, of Durham.

Ruiz was shot in a drive-by May 25 on Holloway Street, and a car he was in crashed into the side of an empty house.

Police say the incident does not appear to have been random.
