DURHAM (WTVD) -- The man who shot a state trooper in Durham last year got three months knocked off his sentence Monday.
Mikel Edward Brady II pleaded guilty to attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and assault on a law enforcement officer earlier this year.
On Feb. 18, 2013, Brady shot Trooper Michael Potts after he was pulled over on U.S. Highway 70 at Cheek Road near Interstate 85 for a seat belt violation.
The officer was shot four times and suffered wounds to each hand, his right shoulder, and the right side of his face. He has since recovered from his injuries.
Brady was re-sentenced because his prison time was calculated wrong. Instead of serving 238 months, he'll now serve 235 months.
