Durham firefighters battle apartment fire

DURHAM (WTVD) -- The Durham Fire Department battled a blaze in the 1700 block of Palmer Street Thursday.

The fire was reported just before noon.

Pictures from Chopper 11 HD showed firefighters working from ladders on the roof to get into an attic area.

There was heavy smoke coming from the two-story building.

We're told at least two units were damaged and five people were displaced.

No one was hurt.
