A police chase ended in Johnston County

JOHNSTON COUNTY, NC (WTVD) -- A high-speed police chase ended with a pickup truck skidding off the road in Johnston County on Thursday afternoon.





The chase started on Hwy 301 in Kenly and continued into the Princeton area of Johnston County, Kenly police said. The driver lost control of his Ford pickup and came to rest on the side of the road at Hwy 70 and Bizzell Grove Church Road.


At that time, police said the driver exited his truck and an officer deployed his Taser.





The driver of the truck was identified as 37-year-old Alex Thompson of Princeton. He was taken to WakeMed and is listed as critical but stable.



Kenly police, SBI, and the State Highway Patrol are investigating.



Charges are pending.
