Man struck by train in Johnston County

FOUR OAKS, N.C. (WTVD) -- A man was hit by a freight train in Johnston County.

It happened just after 5 p.m. Friday in Four Oaks near Church Street.

CSX says the train was going from upstate New York to Waycross, Georgia when the accident happened.

The man was taken to WakeMed with a broken thigh and pelvis.

The train was allowed to continue a little over an hour later.

The victim's name has not been released.
