Police jumped into a raging river to rescue the dog

POLICE SAVE DOG

A dramatic rescue was caught on video in Colombia as a police officer jumped into a raging river to save a drowning dog.

The man's partner helped him out, and they both started CPR - including mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.

Amazingly, it worked and the dog is making a full recovery.

PLANE CRASH CAUGHT ON CAMERA

Also in Colombia, a deadly plane crash was caught on camera Wednesday.

The country's air force shot video after intercepting a small plane it said was carrying more than a ton of cocaine.

It looks like the plane's left engine was on fire.

The air force said the plane was traveling from Venezuela and reportedly tried to escape pursuit after it entered the country's airspace. But, it later crashed in the water when its engine failed.

The pilot - who was the only one in the plane - was killed.

FLUORESCENT LIGHT IN TASMANIA

The shores of Tasmania in Australia are lit up in blue. The water is not toxic. It's nature at work.

The process is called bioluminescence. It's created by blooms of single-cell organisms.

Scientists can't explain the occurrence but say the bigger the blooms, the more likely the light display will take place.

The organic light shows are fairly common off the coasts of Australia, California, the Caribbean, and other locations.

TWISTED COLOSSUS RIDE

And you can check out the heart-stopping ride on Six Flags Magic Mountain's new Twisted Colossus roller coaster.

The coaster is actually an updated version of the original Colossus which first opened in 1978.
