RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Wake County District Attorney Lorrin Freeman told ABC11 that she has asked the State Bureau of Investigations to conduct an "inquiry" into allegations of financial impropriety at the State Employees Association of North Carolina.
That's one step short of an investigation but it shows Freeman is taking seriously allegations that reach to the top of the state employee association and SEANC Executive Director Dana Cope.
Freeman says there is a clear difference between bad judgment and criminal behavior but says the evidence is compelling enough to have the SBI review the situation.
