NORTH CAROLINE (WTVD) -- Somebody in North Carolina woke up the day after Monday's Powerball drawing with a status change to a millionaire.

Although, they didn't win the whole 1.1 billion jackpot, according to the NC Education Lottery (NCEL), the Labor Day Powerball drawing produced a $2 million prize winner in Clayton, which is in Johnston County.

The new millionaire purchased the ticket using online play, NCEL officials said. The lucky NC winner bought a $3 Power Play ticket that matched the numbers on all five white balls to win $2 million.

The $2 million win in NC was one of the two biggest prizes. The second $2 million win occurred in Montana. The odds of matching numbers on all five white balls are 1 in 11.6 million.

In addition, a $2 ticket purchased in Raeford, NC won $50,000. That ticket was purchased at the Refuel on Rockfish Road.

The jackpot ranks as the fifth largest in Powerball history and the ninth largest among U.S. lottery jackpots.
