MORRISVILLE, N.C. (WTVD) -- People are invited to weigh in Tuesday on a new recreation and wellness destination near Raleigh-Durham International Airport.
RDU Airport Authority plans to transform 136 acres of the former Lake Crabtree County Park, which is near I-40 and Lake Crabtree. The proposed development, in partnership with Pacific Elm Properties, aims to create a space featuring water sports, family activities, retail shops, restaurants, and hotels.

The project is designed to cater to visitors and local families, taking advantage of the area's existing biking and nature trails. However, some concerns have been raised about potential impacts on nearby Umstead Park and the region's green spaces.
Residents can share their thoughts at a public meeting from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Laurel Hills Community Center.
