ZEBULON, N.C. (WTVD) -- A Raleigh police officer was one of three drivers taken to the hospital following a crash in Wake County on Sunday.
The NC State Highway Patrol (NCSHP is investigating the crash that happened around 4:16 a.m. and involved at least three vehicles on US-64 East near Lizard Road in Wake County.
According to NCSHP, Tyrell Johnson was traveling east on US 65 when he left the road and hit a guardrail in the median. The SUV was disabled by the crash and facing west in the east lanes on the highway.
Two other drivers, Mohammad Abuthaher of Rocky Mount and Donna Wilson of Zebulon, were both traveling east and crashed into Johnson's SUV. State troopers say Wilson's vehicle flipped at least three times. All three drivers were taken to the hospital. Information on their conditions hasn't been released.
Wilson is a Raleigh Police officer. According to the Raleigh Police Department (RPD), she is continuing to recover and is in good spirits.
Highway patrol says no charges have been filed at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
