Union Pines High School evacuated after reported bomb threat

CAMERON, N.C. (WTVD) -- Students and staff at Union Pines High School were evacuated Wednesday after a student reported seeing a bomb threat written on a bathroom wall.

Moore County deputies said all students and staff were moved to designated safe areas, which includes the football field, while authorities began a full search of the campus.

Officials said law enforcement is continuing to sweep the school, and everyone will remain in place until the search is complete or further instructions are given.

No additional details, including the nature of the threat or whether any devices have been found, have been released.
