Woman seriously injured in shooting along Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh police say
RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- Police are investigating a shooting early Friday morning that left a woman seriously injured.
Officers responded just after midnight to the area of Glenwood Avenue and Brownleigh Drive.
According to investigators, a woman was shot while driving. She was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, but authorities said those injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Video obtained by ABC11 shows a Hyundai sedan with its rear window shattered and a bullet hole through the front windshield.
Several evidence markers were seen scattered across Glenwood Avenue as police processed the scene.
Authorities shut down part of the road during the investigation.
Police have not released any suspect information. Investigators have also not said what led up to the shooting or whether the woman was specifically targeted.
The investigation remains ongoing.
