RALEIGH (WTVD) -- A Wake County grand jury could soon hear the case against the former director of the State Employees Association.

The Wake County district attorney told ABC11 that her office should be ready to proceed with the case against Dana Cope within the next month.

The I-Team uncovered SBI search warrants which accuse Cope of embezzling money from SEANC while he was the director.

Cope abruptly resigned from his job over the winter.

The warrant said SEANC credit cards assigned to Cope were used to buy jewelry and to pay for various home improvement projects at Cope's house.
