FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- Authorities have tracked a bank robbery suspect from Spring Lake to Fayetteville.
Police said the robbery happened at the Spring Lake PNC bank in the Skyland Shopping Plaza off of N.C. Highway 87 just before 10 a.m. Wednesday.
The male suspect handed the bank teller a note demanding money and then fled the scene.
A GPS tracker led authorities to the parking lot of Fayetteville's North Regional Library. That's off McArthur Road, and roughly ten miles from the PNC bank.
A possible suspect was detained in the parking lot of the library, but he was questioned and released.
The suspect was described as a black male, approximately 5'8"- 5'10", weighting approximately 145 - 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing dark sunglasses with a black toboggan hat, an olive green jacket and grey sweat pants.
