Santa arrives -- in a C-130
Santa arrived in a C-130 to help spread cheer to children affected by Hurricane Matthew.

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- Santa Claus ditched his sleigh for something a little roomier Tuesday -- a C-130.

He came to spread some holiday cheer to children whose toys were washed away in the floods brought on by Hurricane Matthew.

On Tuesday, the Marine Corps Reserve's Toys for Tots enlisted the help of the Navy's "Blue Angels Flight Demonstration Team" to bring 50,000 pounds of toys to Fayetteville.

Everything from hair dryers, makeup kits, games, basketballs and dolls were unloaded from the war plane. It's all going to Toys for Tots programs in seven counties across eastern North Carolina. Some will go to the Salvation Army and Cumberland County Department of Social Services who will then distribute packages to families in need.
